Its not institutional investors that make the decisions here its management.
Citi do not even hold close to 5% of the SOI, they hold under 2% (1.24 to be exact) hardly a controlling interest.
Even if they had a controlling interest, you think they are going to wipe of millions of dollars off their own shareholding, and have to raise at over 75% discount to pre the BFS slowing announcement? In order for them to get more with a completely eroded shareholder base and confidence in management which is unlikely to be restored for months if not years?
Will easily be able to see how much citi holds with broker data in a couple of days, doubt they would have got more, and if anyone gets over 5% of SOI there will be an substantial holders notice, its all pretty transparent.
A lot of you guys have these theories but they dont make financial sense for any party, its fun to think theres big boys pulling the strings behind the scenes, but the mechanics of it dont make sense. You fall into the hotcopper camp of holders that whenever the share price is down "its the big boys trying to take your shares" "tree shake" "bots at work" "traders manipulating the stock" with absoutely no knowledge of the mechanics behind it, cant just admit that share price is what it is and in this case its legitimate volume exiting the stock
