Your faith in storage, hydrogen is not matched by reality. As you acknowledge it's not there yet, maybe one day it will get there, or maybe not.
Europe relying on gas, most of which still came from Russia as they have still been supplying during the war. They have topped up from other places, but most their gas is still Russian. LNG takes time, as you need storage tanks and processing facilities to de liquify.
Interestingly, part of our support to Ukraine was coal, not solar panels
