the PRRT is not like the onshore state royalties as it is inflected at a rate of 40% after exploration and capital deductions. onshore royalties are a flat rate based on we’ll head revenues.
the industry’s has seen only modest returns over the past few years and no windfall profits have been paid. Remember oil at negative prices??
no they are achieving higher profits they will pay PRRT.
across the cycle, oil and gas returns are less than say the banks, where ROE is consistently over 10%. We can only dream of a 10% ROE across the cycle. Where is the windfall profits tax on the banks??
BTW if you use Renew Economy as a source of research, you will be sorely misinformed.
Based in Sydney, BTW.
