well, one other way to look at the same is that the way technology you all believe will make hydrogen viable similar way technology could find alternative battery material (sodium ion or silicon or anything else) which last longer, provide safe solid state battery ... isn't it ?
so i guess if you say technology will help hydrogen then on same token you can't ignore that technology won't make battery viable with alternative material that last longer and safe in my opinion
