One emerging star which is set to shine brilliantly is Helge Lund , newly appointed CEO of Statoil, who came across well in an interview on CNBC or Bloomberg this morning. I t lasted for quite a long time (considering the usual attention span of viewers) - about 7 minutes. He had been attending an oil/gas conference at Houston & was full of ideas about exploration, prices, present situation. Made the point that as yet natural gas was vastly under priced as it would be the natural fuel of preference in some areas and this has not been widely understood yet in regard to the green debate.
I hope young Helge jets straight off to Oz to rubberstamp our MEO treaty. I would have great confidence in this man. I used to think we'd sign up with Simone Totti Davidovich at best or Uncle Clive & the ToolHouse Five at worst but my recent feelings are that the news will come from left field i.e. from a totally unexpected quarter and to me Statoil is not a company that I ever considered. In the interview this morning Helge Lund was dead keen on international gas discoveries. I totally agree with the poster this morning who said that Prof Palmer paid up promptly for Zeus with none of the mucking about we've had to put up with ever since. I dont mind if Clive Saves the Day to put us out of our misery- oil is oil- but I do think there is a surprise in store.
One last thing- I'd rather have Helge running MEO and company than Juggy....... And so it goes on and on..... ``
