Yes, but you have to remember property in 99% of our history as humans was not simply about making money. It's actually a primary human need. Some people seem to have forgotton that fact.
House prices will go back up in the USA, so if it's cheap and you need somewhere I say go for it.
My view on US land and housing is contrarian-extremely cheap, yes a better development system, low interest rates, but the key word is affordable. Theres also a choice factor too Molonski, when you're priced out of it there aren't many other options. I must say though you do need to do plenty of due diligence before buying, as with everything. Check suburb and maps, check the parcel number, check the elevation, is it buildable, if it's owner financed what are the interest rates, previous sale price, taxes in the county etc etc.
It's a global villiage these days. Shop arround I say.
