Hmm …I think to fully understand that aspect of operations you should look at the process flow sheet and increase some understanding of the way the operation works to better see that detail.
This is not sufficient I know but consider this … if the customers are prepared to pay a price for say just raw DSO which per tonne would mean as much profit for tonne dug as fully processed SC6.0 product (or more), wouldn’t that logically result in a greater “production capacity” if that were measured in tonnes of material shipped (regardless of grade)?
My understanding is that the production capacity (P580-P680-P1000) is a figure of production output that is possible at a given SC value or tight range and given material recovery percentage. It’s not a simple “aye captain I’m giving it all she got and we canna push any more volume out” value.
But yes I do recommend for those wanting to better understand this metric they spend some time reading up in the flow sheet process.
