not being an insto i cant give you the exact how and why but what I have noticed happenng is that when a stock is sitting holding a price point and could go either way at eiher time i think a computerised system sells a small parcel (20 thousand or so can be 8,000 changes al the time always a weird number) into the ask queue so effectively to make people panic dump into buy queue maybe it also triggers stop losses. The strange thing is that right at the same time the same number auto generates into the ask queue right right the top I am not sure what it does there and for what reason but it is something manipulative to try and drive fear ...seen it 3 times with OBJ in 2 big buying days and noticed it on CXY on Friday ....notice how they have been swooping up whole lines in the ask queues
