No, I'm really not. It's all out there if you go looking. Let's look at IMI, RGL and TMB who are all in the district.
IMI
Here's Tambourah South owned by IMI. Lepidolite dominant pegmatites.Vast majority of these samples are all sub 1% Li2O. But there's more for IMI. Low grade rock chips again with more lepidolite. And notice how they call them lithium-bearing pegmatites? That's so they don't have to specify lepidolite. The market does not like lepidolite.
RGL
Here's RGLs prospects which are full of rubidium which strongly suggests lepidolite - these are not spodumene dominant pegmatites unlike those in the Eastern Prospect. And from the same release, mentions of MRR's results which are also lepidolite mixed.
TMB
Here's TMBs material with again, elevated rubidium. Isn't it strange how the Li and Rb values go up and down together? Almost like there's something in the geochemistry controlling them and the hint for players young and old, Rb doesn't go into the spodumene lattice. So in what mineral is it going into? I'll let you come to your own conclusion.
TKM
Prospectivity of pegmatites and notoriety of pegmatite mineralogy addressed in above comments based on similar pegmatite geochemistry to neighbours. Further identification of spodumene/albite (and not lepidolite) is critical in the Central Prospect but hasn't been confirmed yet by their field team. I've adequately addressed the fact the spodumene pegmatites only exist in the Eastern Prospect. They've told, and showed, the market they have 4 samples which are going to grade highly as outlined above. So what about the other 62 samples? Don't you think it would be worth noting to the market if you found spodumene in more than 4 samples? I'm merely reading between the lines of what they put it. And based off similar geochemistry of other pegmatites in the region, as above, it would not be alarming for them to have 4 high grade results followed by numerous low grade results. And of course they can't tell the market their prospects suck so they need to lead it in the best way possible.
In summary:
- While a positive step, there is no doubt concerns about the prospectivity of the central zone until proven otherwise. ✓
- This region is notorious for producing lepidolite as the main lithium-hosting mineral. ✓
- Further identification of spodumene/albite in the central zone will be worth monitoring. ✓
- I wouldn't be surprised to see assays in the coming weeks leading the headline with "High Grade 2.8% Li2O Confirmed in Spodumene-Bearing Pegmatites at the Tambourah Lithium Project" followed by 4 great results and 60 mediocre results. ✓
Did I miss anything or are you suitably happy?
