Exactly, they could turn it into a 40% ABV and have more than 2.1M litres too. At these prices it's an absolute steal. their inventory goes up in value as time progresses. Moreover, I'm sure I read that the new pontville distillery will mean they can produce 1M litres of new spirit a year... so in 12-months the inventory will be at least 50% higher (but ultimately much more because new make spirit is high ABV, so to adjust it to 43% will mean it gets reported as much more than 1M litres).
Also, Lark has the brand name (which counts for a hell of a lot). The brand name is what will get them into bars and bottle shops. The brand name will add the prestige required to be first in line in export markets. Not to mention they have a 30-year old release which is the oldest Tasmanian whisky. I know Sullivans cove gets attention because of the award it won. However, Lark has the historical connection (Bill Lark being the godfather of Australian Whisky), and beautiful historic buildings etc. So from a tourism perspective Lark provides that experience. Sullivans cove is like a factory in an industrial estate. Nothing against it but when you have a prestige brand you want that history.
