don’t want to turn it into a back and forth, but there’s limited if any evidence that in a country like Australia, that EVs are actually ‘greener’ than petrol vehicles.

In addition, car emissions make up next to none of the global carbon emissions. Banning ICE and forcing people into EVs will therefore make very little difference to carbon emissions.

As for Australia’s share of global emissions - even if we banned every petrol vehicle and coal and gas plant in Australia it would make zero impact on global temperatures - simply for the fact that we create a tiny fraction of global emissions.

So the question is, if all of these policies in Australia won’t actually make a difference to the idea that CO2 is warming the planet, then what is the case for doing anything at all?
