they want to increase npv and reduce capex. And it makes sense to increase mre when nearby mine life is +30 years. We can easily get 30+ years mine life why settle for 16 years. Also I work as systems engineer and understand the process to life cycle l. If they develop a mine based on 16 years mine life and less yearly output then it would be expensive to extend the project layer on.
