I think you have it arse about. it is the govt who are not prepared to negotiate, not the other way around. Thodey is aware of the need to embrace the change in technology, but is not prepared for telstra shareholders to be shafted by an ignorant bully like conroy on the way through.
There is a compromise solution but conroy wants to screw the tls shareholders. It probably wouldnt be so hard for the govt to reach a deal if they had not used up most of their bullets with the stimulus packages, now they are trying to claw back some of their overspend by screwing tls
