You obviously have not read details of the deal......its for 5 years
@$15 mil p/a to promote the State of Victoria as a prime
tourist destination both to a domestic & global audience.
IMO if the IO Billionaire thought she was getting a deal
at the same price, then IMO the Vic Government is
"fair market value" unlike some Government under the desk
deals. This one is out there for all & sundry to see.
Now let's have a Captain Cook at Prime Time TV ad rates:
That's on average $30K per 30 Sec TV Prime Time Ad
During a sports match, there can be up to 50 ads in the leadup/during/after the game:
Thats $1.5 mil costs of ads. and that's in less than 2 hours!
The feature Logo/Message on team shirts are in your face for the duration of the match
The team plays home and OS Tournaments and obtain significant media exposure
Previous sponsors were Samsung & Origin Energy
SO, IMO, to politicise this is a cheap shot which does not consider the commercial
benefits to both the team & Vic Tourism.
That said, Australia's richest person should have apologised for her father's
inappropriate comments on our First Nation's peoples.
Just imagine if the Japs had been successful during WW2 , quickly colonised Aus
and then the Japs in the mid-1960s said that about White people...
Would we be now saying :"That was the 1960s...no worries.....eh?
IMO no.
