latest retail abs monthly data for September ($1918M) shows that the spend at departmental stores for a September is still the 2nd best month over past combined 3 years, with only last month’s data being the all time high for past 3 years ($1925M). looks like people are not spending money on trips and spending more money in making themselves looking good despite interest rate rises.
