While diesel vehicles are not banned from London’s CBD yet, there is a charge to drive them in there.

“The London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) was introduced on 8 April 2019 to help improve air quality in the city. It originally covered the same area as the Congestion Charge but, from 25 October 2021, expanded to cover the area up to the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road (A205). The result is that drivers of many diesel cars and vans and older petrol cars will have to pay a daily charge of £12.50 to drive within the zone.

The ULEZ is enforced by cameras, and the charge applies 24 hours per day, seven days per week. In order to avoid the charge, diesel vehicles must meet the latest Euro 6 emissions standards, with petrol vehicles needing to meet at least Euro 4 - an older emissions standard.”
