Sharing my updated comparison of cannabis related stocks on the ASX incorporating latest Sept 2022 quarterlies.
To Explain the columns:
Cash = Cash on hand as of last quarterly.
CR = The price the last capital raise was at.
Mill = How many $million raised with the last capital raise.
Price = Share price (to nearest cent).
Market Cap = Market cap in millions.
SOI= Shares on issue in millions.
Av Vol = Average Daily Volume in millions shares traded.
To High = How many times the current share price needs to be multiplied to reach their yearly high.
$/M = How many times their market cap is more than cash on hand.
Avg Qtr Net Cash = For the last 2 years, what the average net cash loss has been per quarter (in $100ks).
Avg Qtr Staff Admin = For the last 2 years, what average spend on staff & admin per quarter (in $100ks).
Avg Qtr Receipts = For the last 2 years, what average customer receipts have been (in $100ks).
52 Low 52 High = High and Low of the share price for the last year.
Got the figures of the last two quarterlies (June & Sept) next to eachother too so you can see the trajectory, if a company is increasing sales, spending more, etc.
Only bias is me putting ECS ontop of the list, I think its best play currently in the space on ASX based on financials, management and valuation compared to peers (they are a cultivator in Australia, doing outdoor grows, which is 10 times less cost than indoor grows, but produces the same TGA regulated, GMP certified product as indoor grows.) Valued at around 1/3 of the other two cultivators, and no debt unlike CAN who havea staggering $56 million of debt and LGP who have 5 million of debt, and both LGP and CAN both doing cap raises now at all time lows now. A lot of room to the upside for ECS, verge of being cashflow positive.
Rest of the names have been put in order of market cap from highest to lowest.
Quick and easy way to see where they are all standing and what money they are bringing in, how much they are spending on themselves (staff and admin), how much they are losing a quarter, saves you going through the last 8 quarterlies for all 19 companies on the list as this data takes into account 152 quarterlies.
All info is up to date using data from the last two years of quarterlies up to the latest Sept 2022 quarterly.
Its a bit of a mess right now in this space, capital isnt as easy as it was to get years ago, you have a lot of companies this month only being able to raise small amounts at all time lows (LGP, CAN, AGH, BOT) . Companies like MXC and CPH on a death debt sprial with convertible notes issued whilst share price hovering around all time lows. AC8, SCU, CGB, in suspension for who knows how long. Big winner has been CAU which has over tripled this year, cash flow positive, with plenty of cash in bank to expand.
Really is make of break time for a lot of these companies and dont see many surviving. Saving grace might be the US elections in the upcoming year where they will try to get votes by getting the MORE and/or SAFE act through, overseas regulatory news has always been the biggest mover of ASX weed stocks, so with that pump might be a chance to exit a lot of deadwood, or enter the quality stocks, not many left unfortunately.
