Soooo, 1.4 million shares bought back on a day 8 million traded. 17.5% of shares bought on the day were buy the company. Not without irony one of its biggest buyback days to date the day before its CEO faces some remuneration tests at today's AGM.
One might think this a very good point to sell out of Qantas shares, as Qantas nearly executed over 2% of its share buyback in a day. Its over half way through its buyback execution and accelerating it on the recent highs of the stock.
Unless they extend the buyback, that's a very strong buy distortion in the market that will be absent soon => all things equal; a big share drop when the buyback ceases.
