Lithium and the East-West conundrum

Read this article the other day and thought it might be worth a new thread as I think this issue will become more prevalent in the near future due to current Geopolitical issues and worth its own discussion……………….

Canada orders three Chinese firms to exit lithium mining
OTTAWA/BEIJING, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Canada ordered three Chinese companies "on Wednesday to divest their investments in Canadian critical minerals, citing national security".

"Earlier this year, countries including Britain, Canada and the United States established a partnership aimed at securing the supply of critical minerals as global demand for them rises".

-I wonder what the Australian government will/could do in the future? Will they follow suit as time goes by and supply chain issues become more apparent?

-Could more Western countries shore up supply chain issues?

-What could/would happen to all the current mining companies who have put their eggs in one basket if hostilities were to break out?

-Has 1MC made the right move is setting up bases here and in the US for a lead up to this change/trend?
