This happens all the time if you commit skin in the game directly into equities - that's my point
You also make money (if you commit) into other equities
You seem to have missed my point entirely
Magellan is down simply for one reason - the growth story has been crushed by inflation
And their lead fund has positions (as you have well shown) in that.
My point is big deal..
The thing is most everything else is down as well - haven't you noticed?
Even cash...
You been holding cash the last couple years? As an alternative? (with real costs of living and inflation running over 10%)..
Well hey presto you are also down 20% (by doing absolutely nothing)
Cash is also being crushed by inflation..
Yes it's not 60%.. but hey if the growth story suddenly reverses , then that difference will rapidly change
Are you telling me you have a crystal ball and will suddenly be able to pick it?
Maybe sentiment has changed already and you haven't even noticed?
Not saying it has (and NA)
My point is who knows?
You have to be in the market (to benefit overall from it;s long term growth is my point)...
And that means skin in the game
It doesn't mean thinking you know more than everyone else
'Cause long term (and overall)
You don't
Nobody does
