How about in specific terms you describe how you think the state government should intervene in the very capitalist demise of the Griffin mine.
What should they do?
Subsidize the coal coming out of the mine?
Tell the rain to stop next winter to improve production?
Or maybe wait until the receivers and liquidators do their thing and pick it up for song? [ that is my preference by the way].
So the last line of the article is probably correct, nationalisation , it just needs to be as cheap as possible . Especially as rehab is likely to end up being the taxpayers problem as well .
Oh , and any closures of generators has nothing to do with Griffin's woes at the moment.
On the WA government and its surplus , lots of reasons .
But , wasn't it lucky that the state government and the big miners , conspired to keep the mining of said resources safe during the pandemic, despite mega whining from the right.
No floods either! Mcgowan pretty much a superstar!
cheers

na, they can't do that - both pints friends are Liberal Party minded people - ie. government to get out of the way and let business do business, government to not interfere, let the market work it out
go pints, go conservatism - it's gonna all work out alright
yeah right!
