This is a history of where we stand in terms of LPI's extraction rights on the Maricunga salar:
MSB, now LPI was awarded an extraction quota based on a resource 90% smaller and with a process efficiency rate 10% less than what the future processing plant will deliver. One could double the quota awarded to LPI.
Written authorisation was provided by the Chilean Government allowing MSB, now LPI, to apply for a CEOL for its Litio tenements. This has not advanced as LPI reconfigured the project to undertake a staged approach to its Maricunga project, beginning with the old code tenements.
We then had the ASX release last week addressing Codelco's actions regarding the old code tenements.
Yes Horizon, it is all about Codelco / National Lithium Company (NLC) continuing to have a presence on the salar in the future. Nothing else.
Hopefully this will blow over quickly as I do see great possibilities in teaming up with the proposed NLC in potentially developing other salars in Chile.
