It is a pretty clear improvement, even just focusing on Tmall where they are ranked 2nd.
At this point during the festival, in 2020 they were ranked 5th, and in 2021 they were ranked 4th (see here:

I think they ended up ranked around 6th on Douyin during 618, so seems like an improvement there too. I don't have a comparable reference point for JD.
Since DB took over, there's been pretty strict pricing control and hence we can probably assume that the results are achieved without any higher discounting then last year for instance.
