It's obviously Trove wanted to bring Invictus in connection with fraud, also the part where he told that some companies add minerals amongst the mix to create porosity. The hypocritical "I'm sure Invictus wouldn't do" was probably only mentioned to avoid being prosecuted. The doubt was anyway sown.
But why should management cheat ? Normally one cheats to gain a material advantage. But since the days of transformation from Interpose to Invictus and the aquisition of this project in 2018, no active board member has even sold one single share. And ultimately you can't fake an O&G discovery
Maybe they need some very critical reviews in their presentation-mix to feign independence ? The appearance of independence can be worth money in the world of social media and promotion.
