If WA1 can rise from something like 10c to over $2 in two weeks on news of a very small niobium grade find at a depth that makes it uneconomical to mine, then SPQ should've at least risen rather than fallen on an extremely green day on the markets - SPQ were one of only a very small % of the mining sector to fall when the rest of the sector was green. THAT is why communication is important.
I'm not blaming Peter as he obviously ended up with the whole presentation dumped on his shoulders when he's either too stressed, not equipped to handle it, or unprepared because he's overburdened with other things (probably a combination). That needs to be fixed for the future though, it's not a minor thing. Jerry Seinfeld once said that the people who end up on stage are usually the ones least equipped to handle it, so quite often very talented people end up performing out of their element, doesn't mean they aren't talented though.
I have to say the format of a lot of these presentations is backwards in my opinion though (not just SPQ), they should point straight to the potential porphyry or other main point at the beginning of the presentation to capture everyone's attention & then elaborate on it rather than waffling on about future mineral shortages (everyone knows that already, it should come after the main point). That way the main point isn't lost in the waffle and the audience won't be bored - the audience are most receptive at the beginning of the presentation so first establish what's good, and then elaborate as to why it's good.
Having said all that Friday's presentation isn't such a bad thing & the good news can't be too far away. If what Skyline19 said above about the activity around their booth is correct then I'm sure we'll still be cooking with gas next week. It's just that perhaps presentation & communication is something to improve on in the future. Ever onwards, ever upwards (especially the shareprice).
