@jacko....Thanks mate. II remembered it, but could not put a name to it. If I remeber the company announcement that released the (Ensign 960?) rig and suspended operations at cervantes - at least for the time being. As you can see by my last posting, it is a different JV at Ottway (Nangawarry) Lakes Energy. If I said it is a JV I would expect an interested person to look it up.

Announcement by Metagasco the JV partner there:

• Shares in Metgasco (MEL) have plunged this morning after the company said it would plug and abandon its Cervantes-1 oil exploration well in the Perth Basin
• While drilling confirmed the presence of a robust structure, results found that three Permian sandstone targets were water-bearing
• The well will be plugged and abandoned in the coming days, with the drill rig to be released from contract
• Managing Director Ken Aitken said the results are “disappointing”, but company’s focus remains on its high-value Cooper Basin assets

I do note BPT is making a takeover offer for STX. As VEN's management is all mainly ex BPT , I suspect a cosy little tie-up there. Once the cash starts flowing I would expect a nice little "FRIENDLY" by BPT in the new year. A offer of $0.33 would take me out at a 400% profit. I would be sad to see VEN go, but a profit is not a prophet. Prophets are usually a dead loss.
