re: Ann: Beyondie Acquisition - Variation to ... Thx for that link JT - this is the first time I have seen EMG linked to the OPR project in the media.

For me (living in WA) it seemed like the obvious way fro EMG to get the ore out. This is very exciting and if EMG are granted space at OPR this would be a significant boost for the future of EMG.

The initial "tender" process for berths at OPR was confidential. Apparently there were 14 EOI's and if you look at the geography, EMG really must use OPR to get the ore onto the water if they are fair dinkum.

This creates issues around rail access to the OPR infrastructure. I'm not sure about the intended rail line into the new port - how far will it be from Beyondie?

Will they need a spur line to hook into it?

The other issue with OPR is that it will not come online until 2014. It's a long time to wait, but with FIRB & EPA approvals yet to come plus the infrastructure required it is probably a sensible timeline for EMG.
