Yes Coal can be up and down but this is different - Russia has halted supplies of Gas and Coal - and as the World transitions to Renewables they need a transition fuel supply which was going to be Gas - this is too expensive so coal is back in demand. - Most coal is tied up to long term contracts so trying to find new coal is not easy so countries are forced to pay high prices to secure it. - I can’t see this changing in the short term whilst the price of Gas is at record prices
