maybe tls should start their own nbn after reading what mike fries said ,tls should divest its hfc to a co owned by tls shareholders put in $100m to upgrade hfc to 100 mbs and immediately have ftth connections to 2.5 million households in the capitol cities, make agreement to lease ducts etc to new hfc nbn so they can expand underground.take the govts 4.7 billion already egreed to to help expansion and maintain contact with govt as to pace of expansion and rate of take up of 100 mbs.that way tls has created strong competition whilie staying fully intergrated(stopped govt nbn in its tracks)better for tls shareholders than a govt nbn and all the threats.that way conroy has his privatised nbn.you would have a major indication of the viability or not of a nbn and in any case healthy competition for tls with possibly LESS REGULATION and no separation costs for the cost of 100m.sounds better than whats on the table at the moment as a tls shareholder(no expert just a thought)ps google must b looking at a 1 gb connections for a reason so would b nice to have an upgradable hfc nbn in place at some stage.
