@Pasta1 I am - maybe - more trusting than others, but I do believe we have a government, elected by us, who do take care to do a good job - not always perfect - but we are living a good and peaceful life in Australia - not threatened by anyone (at the moment) - just watching the overseas news with horror, but knowing that we are relatively safe on our big Island, so far away from everyone else.
So it's easy to develop a sense of false security.

I get news from Europe regularly, I get phonecalls, even from an anti-vaccer like you people on here seem to be - but many years ago he has contracted Lymes Disease and is very vulnerable, cannot have the vaccination, but in order to justify this, he has developed conspiracy theories. When he calls me up (we are friends from way back) I listen to him, try to keep him at peace, tell him, he won't catch anything as long as he remains in his fairly exclusive bit of ground, away from the big cities - AND I will research stuff for him and send that, too - so he knows I care, but he knows I don't agree with him - and that's o.k. too - and I don't treat him like an idiot either.

I do care about people, I do trust in our government, I think Norman Swan has done an excellent job, explaining over and over again, how things work, remaining on top of latest research, latest jabs, being discriminating as well.
I have had no ill effects, neither from the 4 jabs I have had (and the flu shot!), nor have I had Covid, but I no longer work, and I don't see a lot of people, yet I am vaccinated - even had a variety of the vaccines. I do have a friend who is - what I call an 'outlier' - a bit different' - a cranky Swede - who refuses the vaccine, also for his son, which I think is unconscionable, but I cannot tell him that - he is a friend - just shake my had in a slightly disapproving way. He should not be encouraged in his outlier thinking, at least not by me, a friend.

I wish you all well and please keep informing yourself also of other opinions and the latest research. I know it feels like fun to be exclusive and think oneself an original thinker - but no man/woman is an island - we are all connected.
