A lot of people do not have insurance in the US, to my knowledge.
Does the US government have a funding model for people without insurance?
I do not know. But we are blessed to be in Australia when it comes to these situations. But often new treatments are not covered by the government here. At least to begin with.
There are very few countries that would be better than OZ for universal health.
Each country is different.
