Although the tenements are an extremely long distance from each other, there is indeed a degree of commonality between ALY and RAS drill cores.
They both consist of small rock chips rather than solid cores and both company's core trays have a mix of black; ginger/brown; and white colours.
Both announcements also avoided making any definitive assessment of the geochemistry. It must be far more difficult to make a guess when you don't have solid cores.
But RAS did make a big deal of their white rock chips having "apple green crystals (which) are of major interest given beryl, spodumene and amblygonite all commonly exist as a green crystals within LCT (lithium-bearing) pegmatites". The claim is true but I wasn't totally sold on it being spodumene.
ALY's lighter coloured chips are a dirty cream/white colour which could also contain spodumene but the rock is very crumbly, and the photograph too far away, for us to be able to pick out any crystal formations.
Both companies had very high expectations placed upon these earliest of drill results and when high expectations fall short then it is quite natural for the share price to get punished.
