Fortunately not many luddites in generation Y and Z , rather operate a brick laying robot than lay bricks themselves.
Re brick ties , IMO , very good point re requirement and safe access .
I note the 4th Wellard house was built using thick single skin porotherm blocks , no ties required.
I believe FBR hadrian 110 is all about laying large blocks.
