not really a miscalculation, just that there are so many tool options, you need the right one for the right scenario.
wouldn't waste time and money brining wrong tools to site........so drill deeper while waiting for the right tool for right job.
They could've taken a punt, then not been able to get the sample.......imagine the whinging if they'd done that !
