I'm probs guilty of assuming everyone understands fully what is being discussed. Will try to give more detail - but be aware I also consider myself to know "not a lot" about the behind the scheme workings and machinations - @tutor is a poster who knows that side well. He could probs explain the "anomaly" on Monday 14th where just 2.5m shares were traded in total and yet the shorters reduced by 5.6m.
From my understanding there are two possibilities:
- They got these off market - hence not showing in trades or volume
- The value is incorrect - this does happen quite often where less than full amount is reported one day then its corrected the following day (eg - Wed 9th the reported aggregate was 38.1m)
Best to just keep track of what is going on in terms of trends and know how it affects the daily trading and the current SP level.
