It doesn't appear to be present in the other rift plays to my knowledge, and also from talking to guys who have worked in both onshore & offshore Mozambique, which is probably the closest regional play, there was little or no CO2 or H2S... major gas developments done there or being planned. I am not aware of any problems, but not to say there could not be.

There was a well drilled in Indonesia by a Canadian company years ago in a giant structure like this, and they reported a gas discovery, and the stock price went through the roof. Only to discover shortly after when the mobilized well testing equipment that the flare would not burn, and it was mostly CO2... stock price sunk and nearly wrecked the company, but they survived.

Scott is being very safe in prudent in the way he manages reporting what they know.
