just from experience, options are extremely risky and most consider them very early in a company's journey due to potentially high rewards (risk vs reward).
If the company doesn't do well, the value and demand for options decreases significantly to the point you could lose entirely.
Please, make sure you do homework on options before buying them. Wins are big but losses too. In saying that, the 2 companies I'm heavily invested in, options would have more than 4x my current profits if I'd bought when I considered them - I just couldn't reconcile with the potential loss, hindsight is the only certainty when shares are concerned.
