moving up now past 7?, page-11

Hey TT, I'm a bit of a novice here!!! Bought shares for the first time about November 2007. Watched them all disappear before my eyes with the GFC. I was always told, "buy and hold" and look at them in 5 year's time.
Well I got very bored doing that!!! In addition my investments were being washed away...bit like your prize beach front property being hit by Tsunami
My rescue was Hot Copper and VLAO options!!!
$40,000 options are now worth nearly $160,000.
So I got it all back and more!!!
TAX WISE:
1.) Did not sell a single share until November 2009!!!
(that is 2009/2010 tax year ; not completed yet)
2.) Made a loss of $50,000 in another company
3.) Bought my original VLA at 8c and sold at 4c to buy options (another loss)
4.) My one son is an accountant!!!
5.) I am an ostrich at present and don't want to look at it yet!!!
6.) I intend off-setting my two big losses against my profits!!!

Your other question:
If I had $120,000 cash I would convert the options on 25/06/2010. I need to sell 30% to fund the other 70%
Should end up with about $2.5m VLA shares!!!
