Retailers are overstocked and are ordering less from manufacturers as the economies of the United States and Europe slow markedly, and this will have a ripple effect on the entire global economy says the managing director of logistics giant Toll Group.Alan Beacham, who was speaking to the Australian Financial Review Infrastructure Summit from Singapore, said Toll was already noticing lower orders from retailers in the US and Europe, which were adjusting inventory levels downwards as demand from consumers slowed.
