Morgan Stanley has raised its price target on QBE after the insurer's market update on Monday, noting the stronger pricing and premium growth, plus better investment yields, put the company in good position for the year ahead.
The investment bank raised its target on QBE to $17 from $16.
Morgan Stanley analyst Andrei Stadnik said lower claims inflation could prove a "major catalyst" to re-rate QBE in 2023.
However, Mr Stadnik noted Morgan Stanley's $17 price target in part depended on the support of a lower AUD/USD exchange rate, sitting around 67 cents.
