First of all, the UK made price caps look terrible even if they did choose to do it worst possible way. So if we don't do a price cap, will they actually pull ' the trigger' ? Our nations credibility is on the line and it will be incredibly hard to come back from if we start forcing companies to tear up contracts.
Also price caps do absolutely nothing. Are they saying that AGL can not charge a household / business more than 10% of the 4 year average price? Well okay, so as VEN we aren't forced to sell at a loss so we sit on the gas and wait, then households are told to ration and the pressure is on the government to undo its f* up.
Unfortunately we were so clever with our desire to demonise fossil fuels and embrace renewables but they're just not ready. My annoyance is that with all the low interest rates people flocked to tech startups and bitcoin to speculate which could have been going into newnewable research while we prove up existing energy sources. But no, we decided META needed a virtual world instead.
