You are correct, i know someone who was waiting for the drop ex div so they could buy TER...
it recovered so quickly and didn't drop as much as they were hoping so had to buy in after at a higher price.
4 divs a year i think makes a difference, you can't afford to be out for long as the next Div is on its way very soon unlike some companies yearly payments..a lot can happen in a year.
