CNNC has been stockpiling Uranium for a number of years to ensure supply of their 58 Nuclear Reactors. By purchasing on the open market, domestic enrichment and by investment in foreign mines and JVs.
Around 120 ktU has been stockpiled which has been reported should last ten years. (120,000 tonnes of Uranium) at current usage.
However, things are changing rapidly:
Current usage of around 11ktU, ramping up to 24 ktU in 2030. as reactor numbers increase from 58 to 130.
Which all means CNNC has been scouring the planet for Uranium and has bought 25% of PDN and is looking at more.
The big question is what will happen to DYL. Will CNNC make an offer to guarantee future supply when their demand outstrips their current supply.
Looking at the USA nuclear fleet, most of their U is imported.
CNNC nuclear fleet will be much bigger than the US fleet 93 which is slowly awakening by 2030.
DYL has currently 389 Milb U308. Attributable. valued currently at $2BIO. Approximately 2500 tonnes of enriched U235O2 fuel.
