It's good to see more confirmation of plans to boost capacity Woodman Point. The new reactor design should produce up to 600tpa H2, enough to process all the biogas there. We shouldn't call it a CDP, it'll be a small commercial plant.
Those who've been here a bit longer will recall the 100tpa CDP was meant to operate only until 2023, with expansion mooted if an H2 hub for Mandurah got the go-ahead. Hazer ran the hub feasibility study, but it's been quiet for a while. Despite this, the expansion is clearly taking place.
Despite everything that's happened (or not been able to), Hazer stand a fair chance of delivering a commercial-grade operation to WaterCorp in 2023, according to their original plan.

We now await the heat exchanger and reactor to complete the project and start producing hydrogen and graphitic carbon at close to commercial quantities.Both the heat exchanger and reactor are overdue and have had challenges.

Understanding the challenge of the exotic materials we ordered, the team continued to increase our knowledge and look for innovation from the time the order was placed. This work led to the proposed reactor for the Burrard Hazer project in Canada to be different and simpler. Given the delays we have encountered on the CDP, we intend to construct another reactor for the CDP using the same design as that to be used in Canada. We also persevere with the initial reactor and so are now holding options for this part.
