Hang on:
a) sea freight since Oct have fallen significantly. My importation costs are now down massively. Shipping rates down 50%!!!!. There are numerous items in an importation, many are fixed (port charges etc), but shipping represents a large bulk of the total importation transportation bill. And this component dropped massively in Oct and is looking at further drops.
b) If it is going to take six months to work out, that means you are inefficient.
c) Your hedging policy is now working against you, since the AUD is now rising!!!!
