Incompetence in time - time is key. Lithium cycle is not permanent. All these assets are great at the right time of the cycle. Look at the iron ore - missed the cycle. So yes, maybe they are good at acquiring but not as good at progressing. It happens in busibess. Not everyone is good at everything.
