he provided lot of clarity around Tomie and answered (or gave a hint) a point we have been debating here about Boda. He stated that Boda offers both Open Pit and UG option so I think if they do it it will be done as one larger operation rather than going Open Pit first then going UG as some think. The way he explained it was somehow pointing to - this is how we think has to be mined.
He also explained that the exploration drive will soon be used for exploring. He did that in the past but now he was lot more clear.
And for first time he sounded confident. I think he prepared lot better this time.
The only thing I did not like today was IG oozing of arrogance. No one (well no one with brains) argues why he sold ALK shares. Everyone knows it is withing his rights. What some of us argue is ALK should have managed the news better. ALK shares were traded in the dark for 4 hours while the sale happened outside normal hours so there was ample time for Ian and ALK to send notice to the ASX. Somehow in his arrogant response Ian forgot that he also happens to be the Chairman of ALK and that role requires him to represent the interests of all shareholders and not only his own. Hence why the sale should have been handled better. Those are my views anyway. Others think differently and that's fine.
This was not hinted today but I am fairly confident ALK are very open to JV with a major on Boda. Will it happen? No idea.
