Toyota like to pretend they sell the Mirai here, in reality they only have some here for demonstration purposes to try and drum up support for hydrogen passenger cars but they're flogging a dead horse. They're trying to catch up 10 years of EV denialism by creating joint ventures with Chinese manufacturers that already have EV platforms they can use.
The Mirai uses something like the equivalent of 40 kWh per 100 km because of all the inefficiencies of using hydrogen as an energy carrier, versus a Tesla that uses less than 20 kWh.
We are a two EV household now, Tesla Model 3 LR and BYD Atto 3, I had the Tesla first and then we decided to replace the second car which was 10 years old and starting to have turbo issues. I would never consider buying a hydrogen car and needing to go to a fuel station every week. The few times a year that I need to drive more than 500 km in one day I don't mind waiting for the car to charge at a supercharger.
