    @pints....He is absolutely correct about unconcious bias. Every time I have -- on other treads - mentioned beaming power down to Earth from collectors on satellites in stationary orbits , the howls of derision have been deafening. But nobody has provided logical reasons for their opinions. The just don't like the idea of transmitting to collectors on earth, in the microwave spectrum.

    Humans, by their very nature, are always against disruptive technology. At least at first. Once they see the benefits, they change very quickly. How cheap would power have to get, to change public opinion? Or probably more correctly. How expensive would it have to get people to be willing to accept radically different ideas. Look at this whole thread, it is full of posters arguing over minor points, each trying to prove they know more than the other. Meanwhile nothing is done/achieved..
