Telstra still hold the trump cards no matter which Government is in and two of those are:
(1)The infratructure, which will cost more than $43B to duplicate underground.. They will never get away with hanging it from the telphone poles, which i assume also belong to TLS.. Yes, there is an access policy in place for the ducts etc, but the NBN Co still have to pay for that access and from all reports will cost more that paying Telstra out an acceptable price..
(2) Telstra shares form part of all Australians retirement funds and any Government will get crucified if they decimate these funds..
Yes, you will say that the Government can legislate whatever they want.. But, we are not in Russia, we have a Senate in this Country that keeps Ministers with big "egos" under control..
